Imagine a place where aspiring game designers and seasoned professionals alike can elevate their skills to new heights. Many individuals struggle to find comprehensive, career-oriented education in game design and development, whether they are new to the industry or looking to advance their skills. Enter Freedman Design Institute, a leading educational platform dedicated to bridging this gap.
Before joining Velocity, a program stream of Alberta Catalyzer, founder Matt Freedman was trying to figure out how to structure the business and identify new customers. The resources and coaching provided by the program proved to be game-changers. "I gained a clearer understanding of my customer and how to approach marketing," Freedman highlights. This has been crucial for the Institute's growth.
Pitching at the Velocity Showcase was another transformative experience for Matt. "It gave me a much better understanding of the importance of being specific about what your business does and tying your message to that," he explains.
Looking ahead, Freedman Design Institute is gearing up for exciting milestones, including formalizing their marketing pipeline and onboarding the next semester of students. When asked if the Institute could embody a fictional character, Matt chose Levi Ackerman from Attack on Titan—"He's small, scrappy, leads people to victory, and takes down giants."
Freedman Design Institute's success story underscores the value of programs like Alberta Catalyzer in helping early-stage startups establish clear foundations for their business. If you're a founder looking to elevate your business, consider joining Alberta Catalyzer to fast-track your startup with know-how and expert guidance.
