- A special air quality advisory, caused by smoke from over 900 wildfires, has been lifted. Air quality in the Edmonton area is moderate today and expected to drop to low tomorrow.
- The delayed Valley Line LRT project will begin testing trains this week. Construction on the 13-kilometre route, which stretches from downtown to Mill Woods, began in spring 2016.
- The Edmonton Social Planning Council has launched the Social Well-Being Tracker, an online resource to better understand the city's social and economic issues. The initiative will allow for more timely updating of information and ease of access.
- A planned water release at the Bighorn Dam on Thursday will raise water levels on the North Saskatchewan River over the next several days.
- The Edmonton Oilers have announced its pre-season schedule, which will include games against the NHL's latest expansion team, the Seattle Kraken. Five of the pre-season games will be played at Rogers Place.
- The federal government will begin work on its plan to support oil and gas workers as the world moves away from fossil fuels. Alberta's energy minister Sonya Savage said the "intention to hastily phase out Canada's world-class oil and gas industry... will be detrimental to Canada's economic recovery."
