The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a reminder to honour the children who did not return home from residential schools, as well as an invitation to reflect on the ongoing impact of attempts at cultural genocide on Indigenous people in Canada. Here's a look at some events planned for Sept. 30 in the Edmonton region.

- 9am to 8pm: Orange Shirt Day in Devon at the Devon Community Centre
- 10am to 11am: Truth and Reconciliation Walk and Talk starting at the Stony Plain Community Centre
- 10am to 5pm: National Truth and Reconciliation Day activities at the Art Gallery of St. Albert and the Musée Héritage Museum
- 11am to 2pm: Fort Saskatchewan Multicultural Association — Let's Walk Together
- 11am to 3pm: Root For Trees Plant Giveaway at Kinsmen Park
- 12pm: Circle of Reconciliation: Calling You Home at Central Park in Spruce Grove
- 12pm to 1:15pm: Standing Together Orange Shirt Day Community Walk from the YWCA from Mary Burlie Park to Giovanni Caboto Park
- 1pm to 4pm: National Day for Truth & Reconciliation: Past, Present, and Future on Facebook Live from the Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society
