Here are some opportunities to shape civic initiatives, including an alley renewal project in the 124 Street area and an effort to improve municipal elections.
- 2024 RCMP and Enforcement Services Priorities Survey (Strathcona County) — Residents of Strathcona County, including Sherwood Park, are invited to help RCMP and Enforcement Services establish municipal enforcement priorities by completing an online survey before Feb. 6.
- 124 Street Business Improvement Area Alley Renewal — The city is planning to renew alleys in the 124 Street Business Improvement Area, with construction expected to start in 2025. The project will include alley surfaces, utilities, surface drainage, traffic safety, lights, and more. Residents are invited to share their experiences of the area's alleys at drop-in events at the YWCA Cushing House from 1-3pm and 5:30-7:30pm on Feb. 1. An online survey is open until Feb. 12.
- Voter Engagement Initiative — The city wants to understand voter experiences to make municipal elections more accessible, inclusive, equitable, and ethical. Residents can ask the project team a question or take an online survey, which is available in seven languages, until Feb. 26.
