Give with purpose, give to Boyle Street
SponsoredA message from Boyle Street Community Services:
Folks in our city are feeling great instability — with everything going on around us or being done to us, it is easy to lose our sense of purpose. At Boyle Street, we know the wants and desires that we all feel are shared by those we serve — especially a desire for purpose.
This year, we are asking Edmontonians to Give with Purpose by supporting our programs and services.
This summer, a car accident caused many people to vacate their damaged apartments. Overnight, their world was turned upside down — something out of their control left them without a home. The next day, with resources provided by donations from people like you, we moved six affected people into our transitional housing units.
Now more than ever, we must provide the best services and support to those in our community. That means programs with tangible outcomes that are improving lives. At Boyle Street, we are constantly improving and innovating — like at okimaw peyesew kamik, where we have supported over 6,094 individuals safely and intentionally.
Money is tight, and you want to know that your donation is making a difference. We can show you how. For example, last year we supported over 145 children in care and their families. Our Streetworks health services staff cared for 211 wounds. Our Health for Two and H.E.R. teams helped 12 street-involved women safely deliver their babies.
Your gift also means boots in the dead of winter, water at the height of summer, and Christmas gifts for children who would otherwise go without.
But it also means so much more.
Earlier this year, our staff helped two teenage brothers — separated at birth — find each other again. A mother fought for sobriety, gained housing and employment, and was reunited with her children.
A recent graduate from our programs returned as a peer support worker to show his street friends that they, too, could break the cycle of poverty and substance use, as he had.
We provided a safe and welcoming space for queer youth who, even in their own home, were made to feel shame for who they are.
Your gift provides access to traditional Indigenous medicines, cultural practices, and ceremony that have been taken or denied to so many across Canada.
Your gift gives back. We are all facing more challenges and pressures than ever — donating this year gives you purpose, the knowledge that you are making a meaningful, tangible difference in your local community.
Every donation helps as we continue our mission to walk alongside Edmonton's most vulnerable people, creating pathways toward miyo-pimâtisiwin — the good life.
Give with purpose. Give to Boyle Street.
