Weekend agenda

  • Mile Zero Dance will stream City of Glass by Vancouver-based creator Julianne Chapple on March 12-13. In the solo performance, Chapple draws inspiration from the West Coast wellness industry to investigate the commodification of the body by using the climate-controlled skyscraper as a symbol of both containment and display.
  • Curiosity Club helps Edmonton families get to know local parks with monthly subscription packages that help to foster engagement in ecological communities and active, outdoor, lifelong learning. Families can subscribe to receive self-guided adventure kits and artsy educational resources delivered to their door. The next YEGsclusive experience is on March 13.
  • SkirtsAfire Reimagined runs March 4-14 online and in Old Strathcona, with visual art installations in COVID-19 safe areas around Whyte Avenue.
  • Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts (ACUA) is displaying Threads That Connect, curated by Larisa Sembaliuk Cheladyn, until March 20 at the ACUA Gallery. The gallery is limited to six people at a time as per COVID-19 regulations.
