- The City of Edmonton is hosting the "Hear Our Voices: Michel People and Residential Schools" exhibit at city hall from Nov. 22 to March 2025. The exhibit highlights the experiences of survivors from the former Michel Band #472 and aims to educate attendees about the enduring trauma faced by Indigenous communities due to residential schools, the City said in a release.
- The Alberta Emergency Alert system will be tested on Nov. 20 at 1:55pm, reaching a variety of devices and channels across the province. Routine tests are done in May and November to ensure the system's functionality and encourage emergency preparedness. Albertans are advised to ensure their devices are ready to receive alerts and consider downloading the Alberta Emergency Alert app.
- Edmonton-based developer Ivan Beljan and architect Vedran Škopac are advocating to save the former Royal Alberta Museum from demolition with a proposal to transform it into a cultural and commercial hub with sports and fitness amenities. While the province is reviewing their proposal, it continues to favour demolition and is focused on redeveloping the site into a park.
- The Bissell Centre community space at 10530 96 Street in Edmonton is closed following a fire on the morning of Nov. 19. Edmonton Fire Rescue Services extinguished the fire, which broke out outside the facility, without any injuries.
- Edmonton Fire Rescue Services is hosting a toy drive for Santas Anonymous on Nov. 23 from 1pm to 3pm at three fire stations across the city. Residents are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys to Fire Station #5, #20, or #30 to support the drive.
- Edmonton restaurants Bernadette's, Sabor Restaurant, and Tzin Wine & Tapas have been named among the top 100 restaurants in Canada for 2024 by OpenTable, which analyzed over a million reviews and diner ratings. Alberta secured 16 spots on the list, with Edmonton claiming three, while Calgary and Banff accounted for the rest.
- The provincial government and its highway maintenance contractors are not adequately documenting inspections and quality of roadwork, according to a report from Alberta's auditor general. The audit found issues with the lack of documentation for inspected road sections, improper recording during snowstorms, and the awarding of sole-source contracts without proper justification. The province said it has accepted the report's recommendations.
- The Edmonton Elks rehired Ed Hervey as the team's general manager and vice-president of football operations. Hervey previously served as the team's general manager from 2013 to 2017 and led them to a Grey Cup victory in 2015. Hervey replaces interim general manager Geroy Simon and will decide on the team's future head coach.
