- The Mustard Seed is seeking provincial funding to open two additional 24-7 shelters for a total of 120 to 150 overnight sleeping spaces on the south side. "In the last two years we've seen an increase in the homeless population in Edmonton, but not a dramatic increase in shelter space so we're still really in need of more shelter spaces in Edmonton and more housing," Kris Knutson, director of programs, told Postmedia.
