Here are some opportunities to offer your input on various civic issues, including Edmonton's zoning bylaw renewal and Fort Saskatchewan's urban forest plan. (Please ensure you live in the affected area before answering surveys.)
- Zoning Bylaw Renewal Initiative (advise-level engagement) — The City of Edmonton is offering residents one last chance to provide general feedback on the Zoning Bylaw Renewal Initiative before it is finalized and presented to council at a public hearing on Oct. 16. The initiative has been contentious in recent weeks, with 76 residents appearing before council's urban planning committee on June 20 to share their thoughts on the issue. Here's more on how the plan might impact Edmontonians. The final "advise-level" engagement period allows Edmontonians to post an idea to the city's website, email the project team, or provide general feedback in a one-question survey. The engagement period ends on July 30.
- Fort Saskatchewan Urban Forest Protection and Enhancement Plan — The City of Fort Saskatchewan is looking to improve the health and resilience of its urban trees and forests. The city has received funding from the federal government's 2 Billion Trees program and is currently in Phase 1 of the project. Residents are invited to complete a 15-minute survey to help establish the plan's vision, goals, and targets. Engagement will continue through July.
- Public Engagement Feedback Survey — The City of Edmonton is asking residents to share feedback about its public engagement efforts. Residents who recently took part in a public engagement activity are invited to complete a roughly five-minute survey about their experience. The survey is open until Dec. 31.
