Events Roundup
June 18, 2026
This week, we're highlighting an event pick by Taproot co-founder Karen Unland. Karen recommends the Jazz Talk with Kent Sangster, where the artistic producer of the Edmonton International Jazz Festival will share a little history and insight to kick off 10 days of great music.
Jazz Talk with Kent Sangster
📅 Friday, June 19 5:00 PM
📍 Chateau Lacombe Hotel
Kent Sangster, artistic producer of the Edmonton International Jazz Festival, kicks off this year's edition with a talk sharing some lessons on jazz – a little history, some discussion about the genre's styles and sounds, and insight on how Edmonton's JazzFest showcases great talent.
Here's what Karen had to say:
"I had the pleasure of learning about JazzFest from Kent Sangster earlier this year, and his passion for the music and the people who perform it is undeniable. This talk seems like a great introduction to the festival, which runs from June 19 to 28 throughout the city."
